Happy to report that jet lag is almost a memory, but its place has been taken by the rush of preparing the last baby for his summer job and then college in the Fall. Trips to the allergist, shopping for the last minute supplies, creating the list of items that will need to be replenished as the young master’s job requires that he lives away from home for the next few months – all a blur of activity and barking orders and my life lived in snatched moments. I well recall being 18 and having no consideration for my parent’s lives. Payback is indeed a bitch but if I’m honest, my children are far kinder to me than I ever was to my parents! But in those stolen moments I have been writing. And so we return to Sookie and the decisions she makes in the silence of her heart.
