Chapter 16 – River Flows

turnings-story-banner3

Like water, the currents of fate start to flow more swiftly, drawing our players together. Here is where the story may, for some, start to take a less pleasant turn. What I will say is that sometimes things happen, not because we’re weak but just because they do. People don’t contract cancer because they’re weak. People don’t find themselves involved in a train wreck because they are naturally a victim.

Sometimes bad things happen to good people and it’s how we handle those setbacks that determines our character.

You may ask, will they ever be together? Yes.There is a happily ever after in store for them.

Thank you to Ms Buffy, the most intrepid and kindest of editors.

Chapter 15 – Leaf Falls

turnings-story-banner3

First of all, to those of you celebrating holidays tied to your religious beliefs at this time, Happy Holidays to you, and I wish you and your families and friends the best of the season. It is in celebrating that we take that moment to acknowledge those parts of our lives that are truly best. We sift our experiences, and pick out those moments that shine for us, either because they made us proud, or uplifted or just made us laugh, and we share those moments with those we love best. In my family, that sharing is over a table filled with food I only eat once a year.

In short, we celebrate this wonderful life that we are living.

Now, the disclaimer.

It is a joyous season, and I am releasing extra chapters, but this part of the story is not particularly joyous. It is the crisis that leads to resolution, but crisis is rarely a happy time, so be warned! You may just want to hold off the next few chapters until you reach that place when you realize the holiday happiness is over and the gym doors are calling.

My best to all of you. Thank you, Ms Buffy. You brighten my day!

Chapter 14 – Tables Flip

turnings-story-banner3

Good morning and hope you are getting ready for the turn of another year. Whether you dance around the bonfire, sing around the tree or watch the glow of candles against the night, I hope what comes is better than what you had before.

I have decided to release four chapters over the next two weeks – my way of celebrating. Also, there was no way I could leave certain situations for an extended time and call myself a nice person… so there it is.

Thank you, Ms Buffy, for all your hard work. I am well in hand to get you that next chapter but it may take until tomorrow. Still Christmas Eve and not interfering with Christmas Day.

Thank you Gyllene for the banner you made this story. The light is rising this morning and it glows with the same hopeful colors you gave this image. Hope and light are right around the corner.

Thank you everyone, and ‘see’ you again in a few days.

DAY 22: A Gift for ciasteczko from ???

A new gift…

advent-22

So we’re going to need a little disclaimer here and ruining the surprise element somewhat. As lovely and helpful some writers may be inevitably it happens that despite committing to something they can’t deliver. Given the late notice, there were little other possibilities to arrange for an alternate writer so it fell to me, hisviks, to write something in its place to avoid someone going without a gift. So despite having announced my retirement from writing a few months back I felt it important enough to contribute (even with the possibility of misgivings about utilising the platform here for my own works unfairly) because ciasteczko is probably our most prolific contributors with the story locator queries and I didn’t want to see her go without. She regularly checks in on her own accord and having sourced the missing story often far quicker than we’ve even managed to look at the query. She’s an…
