The best part of storytelling is knowing that there are people who ‘follow’ your work.  A story is a joy to the teller, but that joy is made more sweet by being able to share it with others.  The comments and reviews I receive are the best awards.  It tells me that there was something in the body of the work that spoke to someone.  Maybe it made them laugh, or it made them angry or it made them remember something from their own story in a new way.

While those are the accolades I love best, I have to admit that being recognized in a more public way is also nice.
