Chapter 15 – Taking Stations

adistanthorizonI apologize for the day’s delay in posting. I have been maintaining a Thursday/Sunday schedule, but some business travel and a heavier meeting schedule threw me off. The story will be taking a short break starting next week as I will be on vacation. For those of you who follow my occasional treks into other places, the trip this spring is Ireland. I’m hiking the Dingle Peninsula, embracing that wonderful custom of going out to see what things there are to find. The weather promises to be chilly and wet, so every moment of sunshine will be a treasured bonus. I am sure I will post pictures and stories I collect from the road.

I wish to thank both Ms Buffy and Breathesgirl. This story has been a joy, and in this first part flew from my fingers, making me a poster of multiple chapters. I am so grateful for their patient and thorough review of my scribbling. Thank goodness for them!

And thank you for reading and sharing this tale with me! I will post again Sunday and not until my return after May 17th.

Lucky 13 – Planing Under Sail

adistanthorizon

I hope the week has treated you well and that you are looking forward to a great weekend! For those who have asked, I leave on vacation May 4th. Since I will be out of pocket for over two weeks, I will plan to post some extra chapters before I leave.

Thank you again for reading. Stories are always sweeter for the sharing!

My special thanks to both Breathesgirl and Ms Buffy. They are my beta readers. I owe them much.

Chapter 12 – Promises Fair

adistanthorizonThere are promises you make to others and promises you make to yourself. Some are sincere but some are the lies you tell yourself in the dark that allow you to sleep. We travel between characters in this chapter. For some, the future does look brighter, but for some, the future they would forge can only be found through the unhappiness of others.

My thanks to Breathesgirl and to Ms Buffy. There are many threads to this story and they help me to keep everything straight.

You Want Blood… Awards… Nominations Open

castAs I blogged yesterday, the nomination process is underway. This happens once a year and it’s a wonderful opportunity to say thank you to those who have given us hours of enjoyment.

If you are looking at this page, I would like to mention a couple people you may not recognize from their names, but if you’ve read my stories, or others, you have enjoyed their work!

I have two amazingly talented women who work over the raw materials I send them and polish it to a fine lustre.

Ms. Buffy and Breathesgirl are called ‘beta readers’ but it doesn’t do justice to the gifts they give. I hope you will consider them as you look over the nomination forms.

Artwork is its own unique gift. It can frame how you see the characters you read.

I have had the privilege of receiving the talents of several artists this past year.

Sephrenia brought her joy and sense of whimsy to many of my stories. Her use of character, position and accent tells a story all of its own. I consider myself fortunate to count myself among those she has graced.

American Android created the banners and theme for the Swimming Series.

Gyllene graced my page with a signature banner that speaks to me each time I see it. I am not her only recipient.

For those who have asked, the following stories in my portfolio qualify:

The Far Reach                                                                One Shots

The Pledging                                                                  A Heart Desires

The Wedding                                                                 The Snow Globe

The Handfasting                                                          Where it Began

A Distant Horizon (WIP)                                             It Takes Two

A Face in the Woods

Chapter 11 – Submerged Hazards…

adistanthorizonAnd so the aftermath of Amelia’s actions and her death begin to be seen.

Thank you for your comments. I apologize not writing back sooner. Things around here have been busy. Work. Upcoming trip. Taxes. All a great load that is being shifted forward but will be largely resolved by this weekend. Like my chapter titles, I look forward to that time of flying free, sails snapping and fair skies ahead.

Thank you, Breathesgirl and Ms Buffy. I get impatient, so you’re pointing out where the narrative jumps is most appreciated (I know what i meant…).

For my readers – thank you! I appreciate your sharing this with me.
